Hot off the presses... Dell is offering a bare bones mini for $199 (pre shipping/handling cost). Although the stats are in line with what you would expect for this pricing (512MB Ram, Linux, Small 8GB SSD, no camera, white ONLY) with shipping you can get out the door for $220'ish with 1 year of support. Hmmmm, wonder how the Intel Atom pricing may affect this. I priced one with the options of a "standard netbook" (1G Ram, Camera, 32GB SSD) and it is basically $350+ which is about the going rate. Interestingly enough - with this configurator, you cannot go with a standard HD or XP.
Getting more interesting everyday. Suddenly OLPC seems much more feasible.
